What Is Restylane?

Restylane in Annapolis, MD is an FDA-approved line of injectable dermal filler products that can smooth facial wrinkles while adding “plumping” volume to your cheeks and even your lips. The result is a more youthful and attractive facial appearance.

How does it work?

Restylane is a “super hydrator” that attracts water to areas underneath even your deepest skin layers.

By placing that liquid reservoir beneath your skin, Restylane in Annapolis, MD provides a foundation for increased collagen production and enhanced tissue repair. Restylane contains hyaluronic acid (HA), which clings to your skin, providing facial volume while drawing even more water to your skin.

Restylane contains more structure than other dermal fillers. As a result, it stays in place after injection, as opposed to other fillers that can move around and dissipate. That gives your doctor more options in designing a customized treatment plan designed just for you and your desired facial contours.

What facial areas and issues can Restylane treat?

Restylane is exceptionally versatile in that it can address:

  • Facial wrinkles, including those around your nose and mouth
  • Loss of facial volume, especially in your cheeks
  • Lip repair and augmentation
  • Under-eye circles

What are the specific benefits and advantages of Restylane treatment?

  • Nonsurgical
  • Minimally invasive
  • Safe
  • Quick
  • Comfortable
  • Convenient
  • Little to no downtime
  • Much less expensive than surgical procedures

Is Restylane one product or a line of products?

Restylane comes in a wide range of specific formulae to address specific needs, including:

  • Original Restylane: Used to treat facial wrinkles and folds.
  • Restylane Kysse®: Add long-lasting volume to your lips, and enhance their color and texture.
  • Restylane Refyne® and Defyne®: These are great at addressing wrinkles around your nose and mouth.
  • Restylane Lyft®: Particularly effective for cheek augmentation and midface contouring.
  • Restylane Silk®: The first FDA-approved filler designed for lip augmentation and wrinkles around your mouth.

Your Restylane Procedure

Restylane injections are performed in your doctor’s office. The procedure requires no incisions. To enhance your comfort, you will be given a topical anesthetic. Additionally, many Restylane products contain a small amount of lidocaine.

Your doctor will first clean your treatment sites with antiseptic and will then determine how much Restylane is needed. Your doctor will precisely inject Restylane under your skin into your selected areas.

Depending on the scope of your treatment, Annapolis Restylane patients can expect injections to take anywhere from a few minutes to a half-hour to complete

Recovery

Typically, you can go right back to work or school, although some people take a day to rest and recover.

Expect some redness, swelling, and bruising that will fully resolve in a week or less. Limit your sun exposure during this period.

Results

You will see some immediate results, but your full benefits will be noted within one week of your treatment. You are going to like what you see!
